Our commercial technology team has been established since 1999 and has a reputation as a very strong and knowledgeable team of lawyers understanding all aspects of commercial alw and in particular technology-based commercial deals.

Our legal professionals work with clients in sectors as diverse as commercial and retail Plcs and international counterparts as well as software and technology engineering services, telecommunications, e-commerce and internet as well as digital content and artificial intelligence, energy sectors and extends into non-technology based commercial operations as well. We have become experts and built extensive knowledge and insight into the legal and commercial challenges our clients face.

Our founding Partner, Nick Lockett in 1993 was the first European Lawyer to write and lecture on internet law and the transformations in business sectors that the internet would bring about and the resultant changes that would be brought about by growing use of technology (and now artificial intelligence.

We guide our clients with their commercial and technology needs and are able to fully support them in the development of their online activities and work with national and international companies and public sector providers in relation to banking, insurance, media, professional services, retail, sports, transport, and other areas.

Our Partners experience as advocates and as barristers means that we can ensure that all of our clients get the best from working with us and, whilst we have in-house solicitors with Higher Rights to appear in the High Court, we also work closely with barristers and with corporate counsel. We are also used to working with senior management at clients without in-house legal functions and some of our lawyers have board placements.

We also do a large amount of work surrounding the use of cloud computing, blockchain and artificial intelligence and can ensure that as a supplier of legal advice to our clients, we have advised on how to future-proof your commercial deals and we understand the ‘jargon’ that surrounds these areas.
